The Cornville-CCIP (Community Communications Infrastructure Partnership) is an informal group of Cornville residents who oppose the installation of corporate, city-style, over-radiating, mega mast cell towers in our small, rural and scenic community. In the past, members of our group have successfully fought off one tower that was to be installed at our elementary and middle school. We stalled a second tower because it triggered 7 out of 9 NEPA red flag criteria. This includes being too close to critical wetlands and endangered species. When a third corporate, city-style, mega mast cell tower was proposed for our Fire Station, we again rallied.
The Cornville CCIP recognizes the critical need for improved communications in our valley, for both our first responders and our community at large. That is our goal— we want a tower that is TO SIZE for Cornville, one that serves our community as well OR BETTER than what was proposed at the Fire District’s April 2nd Special Session, and does it with minimal threat our unique rural character, our precious riparian landscape, the wildlife and the community that is Cornville.
At that meeting the Fire District Board proposed that we build a “community tower,” and we formed the Cornville-CCIP or Community Communications Infrastructure Partnership to make this proposal a reality for our valley.
