A win for Cornville
At the Verde Valley District Fire Board June 25, 2024 the Fire Chief reported to the Board and the public that Maverick Towers LLC pulled out from Cornville’s Station 32 tower deal on the table. Reason given?
Too much contention.
Seriously? Too much contention has never before stopped a cell tower developer from putting up any tower when they have willing local partners.
That said, the Cornville-CCIP thanks the Verde Valley Fire District for respecting all sides of the issue and not signing the Maverick Towers LLC contract without proper review. We thank them for being willing to work with the community to find a win-win solution. All donations to the GoFundMe build-our-own-tower VVFD fund have been reimbursed in full.
It’s important to remember that the proposed tower location at Station 32 triggered the same 7 out of 9 NEPA and NHPA environmental review at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) that the Tilson Technology Management’s proposed 100 foot cell tower did at the bottom of valley. Tilson has been under
NEPA and
NHPA environmental review at the
FCC’s Compliance Infrastructure Policy Department since early 2022.
Cornville-CCIP.org will continue to post local news about cell tower development in our area. We have identified a responsible cell tower placement through scientific Radiofrequency radiation propagation maps. We have made contact a cell tower developer whose client is Verizon to advocate and coordinate this responsible tower placement.
